Inspirational Music Video #10 - Running With The Wolves

On Fridays's lesson, one of the other groups presented an inspirational music video to the class, By presenting it to, they felt that it was a video we could all get inspired from. After watching the video, as a class we discussed reasons as why we enjoy this video and reasons why it inspired us. The majority of the class spoke about the strong effective narrative portrayed. As it was such a powerful video linked with the lyrical content. As this video shows the struggle of the protagonist escaping, and the setbacks she had when trying to escape but not giving up and reaching her goal, it can relate to everyone in all different ways, as people have had experiences in their live they have had to try and escape from.
I particularly loved the abstract section of this video, how when she was trapped, she was physically tamed by wire attached to her skin, but by keeping what the wire is attached to on the other end also links to the audience as they would all imagine something different. With the range of shots, majority of them focused on the protagonist, it gives the audience the sense of her pain and emotion she is feeling so yet again, the audience can relate to this video.
The shots shown in this clip are magnificent, as at the beginning we see a desolated city which is what she is trying to escape and by the end of the video, we see this beautiful forest which she has ran away to. With the two shots being such a big contrast as at the beginning, the colour scheme is rather monochrome compared to the bright, bold, and vibrant colours shown at the end, which could be shown to represent her emotion. As the song reaches the end, there is extremely quick paced editing, which flashes from her current location in the forest to the previous location, and her running away, being extremely effective as it shows the journey shes had.
Finally, the last shot of this video, the wide shot of the protagonist with no music in the background as she dives into the lake, making the audience and fascinated by her next adventure now that she is 'free'.
