Magazine developments

Below are the stages of the magazine poster advertising the album 'Animal'. To begin with, we photographed the protagonist in a numerous amount of poses, trying different lighting and exposures. After looking through all of them i decided that i really found this one perfect for the magazine advert, as the diagonal lines of her faces and eyes take the viewer away, and had enough empty space around the image to add the elements needed, such as the album and out now without masking the face.

Once playing around and adding the bands logo and bands album name in the same font, i added the draft of the digipak to show where it will be. Once looking at it, i realized that something was missing, so i decided to play about with it on Photoshop. By increasing the contrast, making the blacks darker, brightening the skin and also airbrushing to give it a realistic feel for a magazine advert. This made the album name stand out more, giving a better advertisement.

Finally, adding the Out Now also, i decided to add more colour to the picture to make it stand out, as now, when i look at the image, the first thing i see is the 'out now' sign. The reason for this is because the image is very black and neutrals, so having a bright bold colour really catches the viewers eye, giving out the important information. Also adding the final information below, so the viewers can find out more.
